Maple Valley-May ‘09 Homes Sales

Maple Valley-May ‘09 Homes Sales

There were 29 single family homes sales closed in May according to NWMLS statistics. It’s always noteworthy to compare the original list price to price the property was listed for when the offer was made. I’ve also included a field “CDOM” which stands for Cummulative Days on Market; if a property is listed multiple times or with different brokerages during it’s listing history, (unless there is a 90 day time between listings in which case the CDOM is reset to zero) the market time is added together. My Commute

I’m fortunate to have a very short commute to the office every day. I think it’s somewhere around 3 miles each way. But in that short 10 minute time frame I seem to see the darnedest things! Last year, after popping in the Maple Valley Market, I came outside to see this ….definitely one of the highlights of last summer.! I live in “rural” Maple Valley, at least that’s what we call it; technically, it’s unincorporated King County but still I have a Maple Valley address and my kids attended Tahoma Schools. Each day I get to drive by the Links at Olson Mansion and occasionally will spot a bald eagle perched by the U-Fish pond….lazily looking for an easy meal. (Bald eagles are HUGE by the way, but obviously very light as they barely bend the thin branches of the Leyland cypress trees) But a few days ago, on my way home, I noticed up ahead that something seemed to blow up from the road onto a telephone line. I was a ways away but it appeared to by a garbage bag, or something dark, caught on the line and swaying in the breeze. The closer I got, the

Just Sold-The Woods at Lake Wilderness

Just Sold-The Woods at Lake Wilderness

Past clients now call The Woods at Lake Wilderness “home” since their purchase just closed escrow today. The home, just 5 years old, was absolutely immaculate and had been maintained in almost perfect condition. One of the nice things about this neighborhood is the large central park, it’s proximity to shopping, schools and the Cedar River trail and in the case of this home, the fact that it back to the Lake Wilderness Arboretum. I had previously helped this family sell their home when they relocated out of state and was happy to work with them again when they returned to the Seattle area. Thank you to Glenn Leadbetter of JLS Mercer Island for a pleasant “cross sale” and to Merry Smith of Sammamish Escrow for yet another smooth, successful closing!
