New Home for City Hall?

by Colleen Fischesser

According to an article in the Covington Reporter, the Maple Valley City Council has voted to move City offices from their current location in Hagen Plaza (right on Highway 169) to the DCS/Windermere building back off Wax Road next to the post office.  I know some who think this is a bad move for the City because of decreased visibility. I personally think it’s a trade off because the new location offers more parking and better ingress/egress.

The more important question I have is when the City is going to move forward with the 50 acre site to the South of Lake Forest Estates which they purchased a looooooong time ago. Named “The Legacy Project”, word in the community was that it was purchased and developed as a City-Center type project with City Hall offices being located there.  We don’t hear much about that project any more.

I’ll continue to wait but won’t hold my breath.
